The first episode of WWE SmackDown New Year’s Revolution had quite a few surprises for the WWE Universe. However, what fans did not see coming was Paul Heyman’s response to Dwayne Johnson’s challenge to his Tribal Chief. Midway through the show, Heyman expressed how he felt about Johnson calling out Reigns.

This comes less than a week after Johnson made his return to the WWE at the Day 1 Edition of RAW. Fans were excited to see The Great One but were not expecting the Reigns name-drop.

Dwayne Johnson stunned fans on the Day 1 Edition of RAW by returning to the WWE. He surprised everyone by finally calling out his cousin Roman Reigns and issuing a challenge to sit at the Head of the Table. However, on this episode of SmackDown, Heyman had something to say about this.

During a backstage segment, Heyman said, “The Rock wants to sit at the Head of the Table. To sit at the Head of the Table. One must be invited to a dinner of relevancy. The Rock has not been invited. Nor will he be.” Heyman also claimed that whenever stars needed online clout, they called out Reigns.

This line lets fans know that Reigns is aware of his cousin’s intentions and now will be looking forward to locking horns with The Great One. This is a stark contrast from a decade ago, when The Rock and Reigns were close. Now, the two Samoan warriors are ready to fight for the Head of the Table position.

Could Johnson face Reigns at Elimination Chamber?

Fans know that despite The Rock calling out Reigns, their match will be a one-and-done situation. The Rock has made it clear that he does not have time to be part of the WWE full-time. This was clear when he returned back in September 2023 but did not do or get involved until this year.
