SmackDown opened with The Bloodline coming to the ring. WWE was wasting no time bringing out the big guns at the start of the show. As Roman Reigns began to speak, he asked the audience of Phoenix, Arizona, to acknowledge him before The Wiseman, Paul Heyman, called out for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. It is interesting that Heyman called out Johnson as the greatest movie star ever despite The Rock’s long list of recent flops.
Dwayne Johnson trolls the Phoenix crowd with research
As Johnson came out to the ring, he got a huge mix of boos and cheers. He started by calling out the people of Phoenix, Arizona. In typical heel fashion, he began with what sounded like praises for the crowd. He did say that he did research for this statement and got the crowd excited. He even asked if there were any people from Arizona in the crowd. Johnson said, “The number one city for cocaine and meth use… is Phoenix, Arizona.” This got the crowd booing again at Johnson, who was not phased by the reaction and promptly doubled down.

The Rock continued with the crowd sarcastically saying, “Finally, something exciting for these cactus-loving fans!” The broadcast flickered several times due to electrical issues. Finally, Johnson delivered his main point: “Wrestling is cool again, baby, and it’s been a long time!” He claimed that it was not because of Cody Rhodes but thanks to him and The Bloodline. Johnson went on to talk about Rhodes’ challenge issued at Elimination Chamber. Rock said that Rhodes didn’t deserve a match with The Rock, but he did have a counteroffer.

Working off the recent speculations at a tag team match between Johnson and Reigns vs Rhodes and Seth Rollins, Johnson called it out. On night one of Mania, he challenged Rhodes and Rollins to a tag match. However, this would come with a stipulation. If Rhodes and Rollins won, The Bloodline would not be in the arena on night two. Furthermore, Johnson claimed he would sign a contract to ensure he kept his word. However, if Rhodes loses, The Bloodline can do anything on night two. During the WWE Universal match, anything by The Bloodline is valid. The next episode of Monday Night RAW may see Rhodes respond to this challenge.
