The New Day is always on the strive to spread the “power of positivity” among the WWE Universe. Wherever the 2019 Men’s Tag Team of the year, make their way to the squared circle, they always make the audience smile.
However, for the last year, The New Day has been missing a key element. And the element is the former WWE Champion, Big E. He has been having a hard time ever since he suffered a neck injury last year in March. But his New Day brothers did not leave any stone unturned to make his birthday special this year.

Big E turned 37 on March 1 and Xavier Woods made sure his birthday was a special one. On the occasion, Woods threw a small surprise party for the injured superstar with balloons and a cake. He recorded the whole surprise and uploaded it on his official Twitter handle.
From the video, it seems that Big E didn’t like to be the center of attention. In the video, it is visible that though he liked his birthday surprise; he felt a little overwhelmed by it, too.

How was Big E injured?
During the March 11th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, last year, the two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E teamed up with his New Day partner Kofi Kingston to take on the team of Sheamus and Ridge Holland. Everything seemed going well until Holland delivered an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Big E outside the ring.
Instead of landing on his back like normal, Big E had a nasty landing on his head and neck. The referee stopped the match then and there. The medical personnel immediately came to have a look at him. After the examination, the medical team took him to the hospital.

The next day, the six-time WWE Tag Team Champion via his social media handle gave the fans an update on his neck injury. He mentioned he did not suffer any spinal cord injury. However, he had fractures in his C1 and C6 vertebrae.
It has almost been a year since he has been out of action. There is still no news about his return to the WWE ring as of now. The star is said to have another medical scan soon to check his recovery progress. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
