Earlier this week, the WWE Universe buzzed with reports of Seth Rollins’ debut in the hugely popular MCU. The 36-year-old will play a villain in the upcoming Captain America movie, New World Order. ‘The Visionary,’ who has had movie credits to his name from other Hollywood projects, is one among the many WWE talents who have found their way into Hollywood. While he is more of a part-timer in Hollywood, three other superstars have been able to make a mark in Los Angeles, making films their livelihood.
Recently, a 34-year-old WWE superstar weighed in on the ‘who’s the better actor’ debate among Dwayne Johnson, Dave Bautista, and John Cena, WWE’s trifecta in Hollywood.

The former NXT North American Champion recently sat with prominent journalist Ryan Satin for a chat. Bronson Reed described himself as a cinema lover who takes time out of his busy schedule to go to the theaters. He also identified as a fan of Hollywood legend Nicolas Cage and stated Renfield as one of his recently watched films.
When Satin asked him to choose from his hallowed peers, the 330 lbs Australian was quick to name Batista and chose him over Cena and The Rock. While being respectful to “huge blockbuster guy” Johnson and lauding Cena for finding his “niche in what he does”, he said, “I’m a big fan of Batista and his acting work.”
However, after stating his verdict, the wrestler opened up about future complications he might face due to it. “I think I’m gonna go out and be controversial, I’m gonna get some heat for this, but I think he’s the best wrestler-turned-actor there is,” he said.

Reed, who expressed his desire about watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, said he was left impressed with Batista’s performance in Knock at the Cabin, which came out earlier this year. Bolstering his debate, he added, “I think Batista’s definitely the actor’s actor. Plus, I was a big fan anyway, Batista Bomb guy.”
Call it a coincidence or just clever planning from studios, all three actors had their movies released this month. While it was the end of the road for Batista’s MCU journey, the actor made a confession during a chat with GQ earlier this year.
Batista opens up on his competition with The Rock
It is natural for Dave Bautista to get compared to Dwayne Johnson. They’re both former wrestlers with impressive physiques. Over the years, Johnson has made a name for himself as the top action hero in Hollywood, and as the years piled up, so did the thickness of his paycheck. The Animal had a ready blueprint in front of him, yet he did not take it. Instead, he chose to play a socially awkward space guy who’s hellbent on avenging his wife’s death.

That proved to be a masterstroke as it made Batista a popular name in the industry and also allowed him to showcase his acting chops. Now, he said he was relieved that ‘Drax the Destroyer’ was finally over. Batista told GQ that he never wanted to be the next Rock. “I just want to be a good f**king actor. A respected actor,” he said.
The 54-year-old has several prominent directors backing his acting abilities, including James Gunn, who had a highly publicized fall-out with Dwayne Johnson earlier this year. The ‘better-actor’ debate was further fanned by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery director Rian Johnson, who kept the 54-year-old ahead of the $800 million Hollywood star.
