Ronda Rousey raised a lot of eyebrows when she moved from the UFC to WWE in 2018. But she made an instant impact, debuting at WrestleMania and earning plaudits for her performance. She also became one of the first three women to headline WrestleMania. But did you know that, before the historic event, Rousey went on a rant about wrestling and called it ‘fake’?

However, one of Rousey’s WrestleMania opponents didn’t take it kindly and let her know what she thought of it. It was none other than Becky Lynch.

Big Time Becks, who main-evented WrestleMania 35 along with Rousey and Charlotte Flair, didn’t hold back while responding to the comments made by the former UFC champion.

Lynch said WWE handed Ronda Rousey everything

Ronda Rousey was already a household name before she came to WWE. Her unique global appeal meant the company had to push her to the very top straightaway, and that is exactly what they did. After making her debut at WrestleMania 34, Rousey won the RAW Women’s Championship within her first few months in WWE.

Despite enjoying the fan support early in her run, the reaction towards the new champion soon became split. This led to a heel run for ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’ before the history-making WrestleMania 35.

Before the first-ever women’s main event of WrestleMania, Rousey went on a rant on her YouTube channel calling wrestling “fake”. This prompted a response from Lynch who said the former UFC Champion’s comments were disrespectful. In the interview on ESPN, Lynch also mentioned that Rousey complained how about being on a part-time schedule is difficult when other wrestlers are on the road for almost the entire year.

‘The Man’ said, “I think it’s completely disrespectful. I think it’s completely stupid and I think it’s almost laughable. Because this is the same woman you know who a few months ago was in her kitchen crying. Crying over how tough it is, and she is on a part-time schedule for four months.”

She further added that WWE handed Rousey everything and didn’t earn her way into pro wrestling. Lynch stated, “She came in, was handed everything, made her debut at WrestleMania having never earned her way into this business. Yes, she earned it in a different biz. But that’s like somebody from basketball showing up in the NFL and expecting to be the quarterback. That’s ridiculous.”

It is possible that the rant of the ‘Rowdy One’ may have been a part of his newly acquired heel persona at that time. Not only she targeted other wrestlers, but she also spoke about the WWE fans. But this didn’t sit well with Lynch. Becky Lynch pinned Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania 35. Thus, she became the first woman to hold both RAW and SmackDown Women’s titles simultaneously.

Wrestlers go through a rigorous schedule on the road and rarely have time off. The dedication of pro wrestlers to entertain the fans throughout the year is nothing short of inspiring.

After Rousey’s WrestleMania 35 loss, she took a hiatus from WWE. She made her return during the Women’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year, winning the event. She became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion after she beat Liv Morgan at the Extreme Rules PLE a few days ago.
