The segments where young superstars mess with the legends are quite common in WWE. Fans love to see the face-off between the wrestlers from the old era and the new one. But WWE Universe’s heart skipped a beat when Bubba Ray Dudley delivered the powerbomb to a female WWE legend in 2000.
Bubba Ray Dudley, now known as Bully Ray, once shocked the WWE Universe by delivering a dangerous wrestling move to an 80-year-old women’s wrestling legend Mae Young. During an episode of RAW over two decades ago, the Dudley Boyz member powerbombed Mae Young from the top of the stage, right onto the table, leaving fans jaw-dropped.
While Ray was expecting hate for doing that, surprisingly, WWE Universe loved it. And now, when he looks back at that, that is one of the best moments of his entire career.

Bully Ray talks about his feelings before the moment
Recently, Bully Ray gave an interview with Chris Van Vliet. Both discussed the various events in Ray’s career during his more than 30 years of in-ring work. During the interview, the host asked the legendary tag team wrestler about the moment when he delivered a powerbomb to the WWE legend Mae Young.
To this, Bully replied that he was hesitant at first, as Mae was quite old, but after seeing her attitude, he decided to go with it.
While talking to Chris, Bully Ray said, “I was very hesitant because it was an 80-year-old woman. But then after that first thing and I saw her attitude and you know everything and I’m told the stories a million times, I was raring to go……I was raring to go.”
He even mentioned that WWE CEO Vince McMahon came to him and his partner D-Von then and said people would surely hate them for doing that. But to their surprise, people loved it.
“I remember when Vince came to me and D-Von and he’s like I got it. I know how we’ll get the people to hate you. You’re going to put a woman through a table. I was like yeah that’s gonna f*cking work. They love us for it”
