Charlotte Flair is one of the most accomplished superstars on the WWE main roster. Her 14 reigns as the champion have already cemented her name in wrestling immortality. The Queen is known for elegance in the squared circle and her effortless style, which is rarely seen in the business.
It’s hard to imagine Flair excelling in any other field other than professional wrestling. It almost feels as if she is made for it. But becoming a sports entertainer was not the SmackDown women’s champion’s dream.

She recently had an interaction at the LeBatard Show. Flair discussed how her career as a wrestler came about, “No, I actually never thought about it {wrestling}. And I wasn’t really a fan growing up. I got into it because of my little brother. I wanted to help him kind of get on the right path, he passed away almost 10 years ago from a dr*g overdose.”
“But he’s the one that kind of set me on this course, not my dad. Well, just I wasn’t really into the Divas back then and I was just a fan of my dad. So I mean, that sounds crazy. Maybe because I didn’t think about it or have dreams. That I didn’t know what to expect when I started.” added Flair.
This will come as a surprise for many of Flair’s diehard fans. Being the daughter of a 16-time world champion, Ric Flair naturally brings the assumption that this is the industry for her. However, this deep delve from Flair gives an insight into her overall psyche.
For the unversed, the blue brand performer’s younger brother Reid Flair passed away at the age of 25. He succumbed to an overdose back in 2013.
Flair’s latest remark confirms that she entered the world of wrestling to help her younger brother. It might be shocking to many fans that her legendary father’s immense success was not the driving factor. Flair nevertheless carved out a successful career in wrestling.
Not much that she has not achieved in the WWE
Flair admittedly did not get into the business on her accord. But she has achieved all the major accolades that are there to be won. The second-generation superstar is a grand slam champion. A feat that only three other women in the WWE can boast of. ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch recently became a Triple Crown champion.
The Nature Girl is rekindling her rivalry with ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley. The last time these two squared off was at WrestleMania 36. The NXT women’s title was on the line and Flair was the challenger. The roles have reversed now and it will be intriguing to see who comes out on top this time around. The battle lines have already been drawn with a face-off between the two performers at the recent SmackDown episode.
