CM Punk took on Dominik Mysterio at Madison Square Garden as his first match back in the WWE. This was his first match after ten long years. After pinning Mysterio clean, Punk had a few words for the crowd that was chanting his name all night. This served as a message to the fans and a warning to the locker room.

What warning could the ‘Best in the World’ be giving to his fellow members of the locker room? Was it directed to Seth Rollins? Or someone else?

After winning his match against Dominik Mysterion, CM Punk took the mic. Regarded as one of the best speakers in the WWE, the ‘Best in the World’ had a few words for the crowd. He began with, “You guys are the high tide that raises all ships. You have carried me throughout my career to my greatest moments. And this is one of them.” This was the former AEW star thanking the fans for being there and creating the hype for his in-ring return.

Moreover, he followed this by talking about winning the Royal Rumble 2024 and Main Eventing WrestleMania 2024. Punk concluded by saying, “I’m here to let you know that that isn’t me finishing my story; that’s just me getting started.” This is a complete contrast to the arc that Cody Rhodes is trying to fulfill as he aims to complete his story.

The hurdles Punk will have to face to get Rollins

While Punk is aiming for Rollins’ title, there are others after it as well. The first is Drew McIntyre who is still after the title since his heel turn. Another person who could be a hurdle for Punk is Damian Priest.

Still holding on to the Money in the Bank briefcase, Priest may try to cash in at Mania and pull a Rollins on Rollins. This will be interesting to see how the WWE books Punk’s upcoming matches and storyline.
