“That Did Come as a Surprise to Me”: Female Hollywood Star, Who Fell for Dwayne Johnson’s Open Hearted Nature, Tells a Shocking Truth About Her Black Adam Role

It is needless to remind you about the 2022 anti-superhero film Black Adam, in which the male lead was played by Dwayne Johnson. But do you remember who played the female lead? If not, that’s not your fault. Sarah Shahi, who played Adrianna Tomaz, a freedom fighter and Kahndaqi professor, didn’t get enough screen time for the audience to remember her. The actor now reflects on her on-set experience, which wasn’t much pleasing. 

Ever since the highly anticipated DC film was released in theaters, it has attracted distinct reviews. Apart from that, a lot of chaos was going on between the crew. The relationship between The Rock and Warner Bros heated up, which ultimately ended with Johnson unfollowing Warner Bros. Discovery and Black Adam on Instagram. 

One more addition to that list of unpleasant experiences will be of Shahi, who didn’t get enough screen time in the film and also with The Brahma Bull. However, what she adored on the set was the compassionate personality of DJ. 

Black Adam’s female lead spoke about her co-actors

During her interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Black Adam’s female lead explained the scenario that was behind the camera, which really shocked her. Coming from the sets of television shows, Sarah was surprised to not find any of her co-actor when the camera was on her for a close-up.  

She said, “That did come as a surprise to me. I come from a background in television where everyone is present on set, and schedules are built in such a way that actors do not have to perform a scene alone. But with something of this magnitude and scale, I suppose they had to approach things differently.”

Not any of her co-actors, including the male lead, used to be present on set unless they were a part of the shot. However, the charm of The People’s Champion was enough for Shahi to get awestruck.

In the same interview, Black Adam’s Adrianna spoke highly of The Rock while mentioning the little things he does to make his co-stars feel important. One incident that she shared was of DJ passing on the mic to his co-stars and sharing the spotlight while touring worldwide for film promotions. 

Sarah said, “He is so giving of the spotlight because he wants everybody to win, and he acts like it. He’s the most open-hearted person I’ve ever met.”

The way the American actress admires and feels so passionately for The Rock, one can imagine the on-screen chemistry between the two. Who knows, if the actress had got more screen time in the film, especially with the male lead, things might have turned out differently.
