If there was someone who defined pro wrestling in the 1980s, it was Hulk Hogan. The Real American patriot gimmick, clean-cut babyface and a jacked-up physique, Hogan was one of the reasons why pro wrestling became as popular as it did back in the day. Although he was playing a character which pulled off amazing feats of strength, Hogan was a genuinely strong guy. The Hulkster shot to national fame after appearing in the movie Rocky III. The recognition he achieved during this movie became a precursor for his eventual success in WWE. Hulk Hogan left Stallone traumatized due to his brute strength
Despite not being put in the same category as MMA or boxing, pro wrestling is a hard-hitting sport that has seen some of the strongest men participate over the years. Hulk Hogan was one of the strongest wrestlers of his generation. His physique and the famed 24-inch pythons could easily give many bodybuilders of that time a run for their money.
Hogan’s first brush with fame came in Rocky III, where he fought Stallone’s character in an exhibition match as ‘Thunderlips‘. I’ll never forget, I was laying there and I was thinking, “I don’t want to look. I don’t want to look because that bone is sticking through my flesh and it’s over. Here’s the end of the movie.”
