WWE and AEW are two of the top competitive promotions of pro wrestling in the United States. There is an eternal comparison between them. From fans to stars, nobody leaves a single chance to take a dig at their rival promotion. Recently, WWE legend Ric Flair took a reverse path.

Flair hasn’t been a big fan of AEW president Tony Khan. His previous takes on Khan clearly depicted so. Former Hall of Famer believes Khan to be a multi-talented human being with many priorities in life other than AEW. Hence, according to the 74-year-old WWE legend, Khan should allow others to book AEW as well. But this time, it seems like Flair contradicted his own statement.

The latest edition of AEW Dynamite featured former WWE star Sting’s breathtaking performance and that probably pushed Flair to think otherwise about the AEW president. The WWE Hall of Famer has been treated as an asset since he joined Tony Khan’s promotion back in 2020.

Despite not being an active wrestler these days, Sting still has some fire left in him even in his sixties. The icon valiantly faced Kip Sabian, the Butcher, and the Blade, with Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy by his side during last night’s Dynamite.

Following the match, one of his iconic rivals took to his Twitter to praise his amazing demonstration on the WWE’s rival promotion and ended up thanking Tony Khan for booking him so perfectly. The Nature Boy wrote, “@Sting, You Are An American Treasure! At 64, Stealing The Show!! Thank You @TonyKhan For Treating Him With That Much RESPECT!”

After clinching a win in the trios tag team match at Dynamite, we are yet to see what more awaits the 63-year-old WCW legend

What is Sting’s future with AEW?

Sting previously announced that the final blow to his legendary career will come with his contract ending with Tony Khan’s promotion. Now it’s safe to say that it’s totally up to Tony Khan how much time he would like to have access to the legendary superstar.

During an interview on ‘In the Kliq’ podcast in January, Khan talked about Sting and said,‘ He loves what he’s doing. I do think he’s starting to think about what retirement will look like, but he’s also not slowing down at all in the present. So, I’m not ready to say exactly when Sting is going to hang it up, but I do know every time we get to see Sting go out there in AEW, it’s very special.’
