The whole world of sports is in shock today after the Swiss Tennis legend Roger Federer announced his retirement. The GOAT of tennis made the announcement on Twitter with a heartfelt voice message to his fans. The Ace of Tennis was also known for his calm attitude on the playing field. But, it’s hard to believe that the calm and composed-looking Federer is a pro wrestling enthusiast. 

The achievements of Roger Federer on the tennis ground are unmatchable. With 20 Grand Slams in his name, his fans consider Federer one of the greatest. But it took time and sheer effort for Federer to reach this level today. The former ATP manager of the 41 years old tennis star once opened up on how immature Federer was in his initial days.

While talking to The Tennis Podcast, former ATP communications manager and broadcaster David Law opened up about the experience of working with Federer. “The number of times we would go to tournaments and he would throw in a substandard performance where he’d mentally break down, or he’d get emotional and throw his rackets. […] Honestly, he was a crybaby on the court. He was just immature, and it took him a while”

David Law also revealed the passion of Roger Federer for the WWE Universe. According to Law, the Ace of Tennis used to imitate the WWE superstars.

David Law said, “In the locker room and the showers, he’d be screaming at the top of his voice doing impersonations of other players and characters that he might have seen in the World Wrestling Federation and things like that just because he had so much energy,”

Another Tennis personality, Jon Isner, also revealed Federer’s passion for the WWE. According to Isner, Federer used to imitate John Cena and Randy Orton with his friends. Federer also keeps himself updated with the current storyline of WWE. It’s not a secret to the world that Roger Federer has a deep interest in pro wrestling, even though the traits of both sports are wide apart.

Roger Federer still has one more tournament left before finally hanging up his boots. The whole world will bid farewell to the GOAT next week when he will step onto the Tennis field for the last time in the Laver Cup.
