After a long wait, James Gunn came back to MCU for his last film for the studio; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The fans are showering praise on Gunn and all the actors in the film. However, recently, Drax ‘The Destroyer’ actor Dave Bautista got a special congratulation for the success of the movie. It was from none other than his former employers, WWE. They congratulated him for the success of the film, years after doubting the success of the first part.

In 2014, WWE didn’t allow ‘The Animal’ to promote Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 because they doubted the success of the film as Batista said in an interview. This point made the fans take a shot at WWE as they shared a post over the last movie in the franchise.

Dave Bautista once said Triple H and Stephanie McMahon doubted GOTG Vol. 1 would be a blockbuster

In 2017, the former six-time world champion gave an interview to Daily Deed. He recalled the conversation with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, who “laughed” at him for asking for a SummerSlam return in 2014 after Batista claimed Guardians of the Galaxy would be a hit.

The 54-year-old WWE legend said, “And not only that, but here’s how messed up they are. I said to them, because I wanted to come back for SummerSlam, “Wouldn’t it be great if I came back right when I’m also in the biggest film in the world?” Literally, it was Hunter [Triple H] and Stephanie [McMahon] who laughed at me, and Hunter goes, “We don’t even know if it’s going to be any good.”

He added, “I swear to God. But I wanted to go back for SummerSlam, and they didn’t want me to come back. I think because they thought it was such a failure, that run, and it wasn’t a failure because of me. Sorry, I’m venting now.”

Surprisingly, playing Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and several other top MCU movies made him a household name in Hollywood. He proved Triple H and ‘The Billion Dollar Princess’ wrong for laughing at him.
