Undertaker’s legendary entrances
Undertaker faced Shawn Michaels in a Casket match at the 1998 Royal Rumble PPV. The match is most infamous for HBK’s devastating back injury.
The casket match was a memorable one, but Taker really vowed the crowd with a magical entrance. He topped it off with a stunning explosion which made Michaels scamper out of the ring.
For his match at WrestleMania 21 against Randy Orton, Undertaker floated to the ring. The mechanism to carry him was covered in thick smoke, a trademark of Undertaker’s entrance. The entrance was so awe-inspiring that it left Randy Orton to pick his jaw up off the floor. Taker would go on to beat Randy to go to 13-0 at WrestleMania.
Taker entered Wembley Stadium at SummerSlam 1992 in a funeral hearse. The hearse was led by Paul Bearer carrying the iconic urn, holding it like his most prized possession.
At Unforgiven 2007, Undertaker faced Mark Henry in a battle of the behemoths. Taker’s entrance was incredibly eerie and intimidating. Topped off with fire and creepy music, it perfectly complimented the Deadman’s aura.
Undertaker’s American Badass persona also has one insane entrance to his name. At WrestleMania 19, Taker rode his signature chopper to the ring while Limp Bizkit performed his entrance music. Limp Bizkit was one of America’s most popular rock bands in the early 2000s.
Taker’s toughest WrestleMania opponent was Kane. It required three Tombstone Piledrivers to put the Big Red Machine away. Prior to their legendary encounter, Undertaker made another eerie entrance through torch-bearing druids while thunder went off in the background.
The use of druids in Undertaker’s entrances
At WrestleMania 29, the druids emerged from under the ring. For his match against CM Punk at MetLife Stadium, Taker emerged from the darkness like the God of the Underworld.
The swarms of hands below him looked like the souls of the damned, struggling and yearning for a chance to touch the entity standing before them.
Undertaker made his return from injury at the 2006 Royal Rumble PPV. He came out to confront Kurt Angle in a horse-drawn carriage, led by druids.
He then proceeded to collapse the ring using his supernatural powers and managed to spook the Olympian entirely. Taker’s most daring entrance came in 1996 at Survivor Series when he descended from the heavens. His outfit looked eerily similar to Batman’s but his aura made up for the lack of originality.
