NXT has a new North American champion! On today’s edition of NXT, North American Champion Dragon Lee faced off against Lexis King in what was the main event of the night. And as mentioned earlier, we have a new North American champion, and it’s none other than Oba Femi.

But how? Well, Dragon Lee defeated King to retain his title as the champion. However, Femi cashed in his NXT Breakout contract right after the match (as teased earlier in a backstage segment) and managed to defeat Lee to become the new champion. This cashing-in led a lot of fans to remind another WWE superstar that he, too, can do the same.

Damien Priest won the Money in the Bank briefcase back in July 2023. And it has already been six months with him holding the briefcase that awaits to be cashed in. On the contrary, Femi won the NXT contract on January 2 of this year and has already cashed it in to become the new North American champion.

WWE fans, being ever-so entertaining, couldn’t help but share their thoughts on Twitter and remind Priest that he too holds a contract that allows him to become the champion, and he surely can cash it in rather than holding on to it for months. He sure can take notes from this win, as per the fans.

In Priest’s defense, he did try cashing it in when Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre squared off against one another recently on RAW. Midway through the match, when Rollins seemed down and McIntyre was out of the ring, Priest rushed in to cash in the briefcase, looking at the opportunity. However, the ‘Scottish Warrior’ decided to Claymore the leader of Judgement Day. He later called this a ‘stupid’ decision by Priest as it led to neither of the two being a new champion as Priest couldn’t cash it in once again, while according to McIntyre, it threw him off his game.
