For many fans who don’t know, Johnson left the WWE in 2004 after his contract ended. He began a full-time career in movies. In 2011, he returned but as a part-timer. This would be when his feud with John Cena and CM Punk would start.
On the February 18, 2013, episode of RAW, Johnson took to the stage to reveal the new WWE World Championship title belt. Unlike the normal belt, this has a different center plate along with removable, customizable side plates. These side plates came with his “Brahma Bull” logo. While fans were excited, Rhodes decided to interrupt.

Taking to the ring, Rhodes claimed that he wanted to see the new championship belt. Sporting the mustache, he kept his distance from The Rock. Rhodes said, “I wanna take a look at the title. That, for the next 13 years, won’t be synonymous with The Rock. It will be synonymous with Cody Rhodes.” Despite not being the babyface he is today, Rhodes’ statement still got a massive pop from the fans. Now, was this a long-term booking by the WWE or just a happy coincidence?

Nevertheless, the WWE can be thankful for the fact that all the cards fell into place to pave the way for one of the best storylines to transpire in the WWE in recent years. But things were not smooth sailing at first. And, a large part of the credit can be attributed to The Rock whose heel turns turned things from bad to good.
