The former two-time World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, was nicknamed Captain Charisma by the fans, and rightly so. His matches were full of energy, and his in-ring personality always captivated the fans.

His wrestling style turned heads and so did his finisher, “The KillSwitch”. At “Breakdown in your House” in 1998, Christian made his WWE debut by emerging from the crowd and distracting Edge, causing him to lose the match.

Christian Cage has a whopping record of total 463 wins to his 423 losses in solo matches, but his results were much better in teams. However, the ‘Instant Classic’ has somewhat of a mixed bag of results when it comes to WrestleMania.

Christian Cage secures first big win at WrestleMania 16

On April 2, 2000, Captain Charisma and The Rated-R Superstar faced off against The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz in a triangle ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

It was a fiercely fought match between the six Superstars in the ring. As expected, total chaos ensued, and fans loved every bit of it. There were many high-flying instances, and when we say high, we mean top-of-the-ladder high.

Eventually, with the other two teams down injured, Edge and Christian climbed up the ladder and claimed their titles as the new WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS.

Christian Cage Repeats History at WrestleMania 17

On April 1, 2001, history repeated itself, but this time, in a TLC match against The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz. Same as the previous year at WrestleMania, the six men in the ring put on a great show for the fans, which they thoroughly appreciated.

The wrestlers gave everything they had and then some more by putting their bodies through immense hardships like going through tables, jumping and/or falling off ladders.

Eventually, with the help of their then companion Rhino, the team of Edge and Christian Cage won the WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP for the second time.

Wild Ride at WrestleMania 18

WrestleMania 18 was a real rollercoaster for Christian Cage. On March 17, 2002, Christian faced Diamond Dallas Page in a singles match for the WWE European Championship.

It was a hard-fought match between the two men, which eventually ended with Dallas Page performing the Diamond Cutter on Christian and pinning him.

But that wasn’t the end of the night for Captain Charisma, as later that night, he would pin Mighty Molly and take the WWE Hardcore Championship belt off her hands.

Believe it or not, that still wasn’t the end of the night for him as the ‘Hardcore match for the WWE Hardcore Championship’ continued at the parking lot where Christian was about to escape in a taxi.

Christian, also known as ‘The Instant Classic’, formed a new tag team with another iconic WWE superstar,

Chris Jericho. The team did something out of the ordinary by feuding with Trish Stratus and Lita.

Despite their rivalry, Jericho and Status began a romantic relationship. This created tension between Christian and Y2J, causing them to have a match at WrestleMania 20. Not only did Christian beat Jericho, but he also became Trish Stratus’s boyfriend.

Mixed emotions for Christian at WrestleMania 21

The 2005 Money In The Bank was a six-man ladder match that included huge names like Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Christian (w/Tyson Tomko), Shelton Benjamin, Edge, and The Big Red Monster Kane.

Given the list of superstars, the match was bound to be entertaining for the fans, and it surely delivered on the hype. The six men gave everything in their tank to win the prized briefcase of opportunity.

Sadly, Christian could not be the winner of the match, but it wasn’t too disappointing for him as his lifelong friend Edge managed to grab the briefcase.

Disappointment for Christian Cage at WrestleMania 26

On March 28, 2010, Christian was part of another Money in the Bank ladder match that involved superstars like Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, and Jack Swagger.

Even though Christian was one of the more experienced wrestlers in the ring, he couldn’t stop Jack Swagger from winning the match and taking the Money in the Bank briefcase with him. This was Christian’s final WWE WrestleMania match.

All in all, Captain Charisma has WON a total of 3 WrestleMania matches against his LOSS of 4.
