Rumours of Cleveland hosting SummerSlam 2024 intensify, with WrestleVotes claiming WWE is close to finalizing a deal with Cleveland Browns Stadium for the event. This aligns with earlier hints by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and the state of Ohio offering a tax credit for a potential WWE show. As speculation swirls, fans await official confirmation and potential date adjustments considering WWE’s already packed summer schedule. They are also struggling to continue the tradition of hosting the event in August due to a new PLE show.

It was reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select last year that the state of Ohio is planning a show with WWE after the state provided a tax credit of $1.676 million to WWE. WWE has not announced any major show in Ohio, hence the speculations started.
As per Sean Ross Sapp WWE is looking forward to booking Cleveland Brown Stadium of Cleveland Brown (NFL). The stadium has a capacity of over 67,000. SummerSlam is WWE’s biggest event after WrestleMania and is Summer’s biggest wrestling event. Hence, it makes sense for WWE to book a large stadium as last year’s event had an attendance of 59,000. However, the date of the event has not been finalized yet.

Dubbed “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” SummerSlam is WWE’s second-biggest annual event, following WrestleMania. Held since 1988, this will be the 37th edition of the show. Last year’s SummerSlam closed with an epic moment as Jey Uso became the only superstar to pin Roman Reigns and we witnessed the last of Brock Lesnar in the ring.

The event is usually held in August every year except 2022 when the event took place on July 30th. This year, WWE may have a similar problem with the date as they have already finalized Bash-Berlin on August 31st while Money in the Bank will be on July 6th. Hence, fans can expect SummerSlam around late September.
