It is indeed true to say that the party just got bigger even before it began. Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair opened SummerSlam with a huge pop from the crowd. Moreover, ‘The EST’ of WWE proved she is indeed the great champion to look out for.

Belair performed incredibly and even though Lynch gave it her all, the champion defended her crown.

While the match was itself spectacular, after the match, fans were in for a major surprise. Following the match, the long-time return of Bayley finally happened. While Belair was celebrating in the ring, The Role Model’s music rang and there came Bayley with a huge ovation from the WWE Universe. Moreover, this time she didn’t come alone.

After Bayley, we saw Dakota Kai return to WWE. They released Kai earlier this year in April. Adding to that, Io Shirai also made her presence felt at SummerSlam. It seems Bayley got her own faction henceforth going forward on RAW.

Prior to getting out of competition due to injury, Bayley and Bianca Belair were scheduled to have a match for the SmackDown Women’s title. However, the feud re-ignited now over the RAW Women’s title; it seems. The fans were over the moon after watching ‘The Role Model’ show up with Io Shirai and especially Dakota Kai, against Becky Lynch and Belair.

When did Bayley last wrestle?

Bayley was out of in-ring action for almost nine months and hinted at her WWE return multiple times. Moreover, she kept entertaining the fans with her sarcastic response on Twitter. Many expected her to return at Royal Rumble, but it didn’t happen nor did she return to RAW after WrestleMania.

Bayley wrestled her last match at Backlash 2021 against Bianca Belair. In July 2021, WWE announced she had suffered a torn ACL during training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando that would sideline her for nine months. Ever since then, she has not been seen on TV.

Now that she has returned at SummerSlam alongside Dakota Kai and Io Shirai, new things are in books for Bayley. She will surely have her pending match with Bianca Belair, which was planned before she was injured.
