Dwayne Johnson is one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors today. The numbers his movies do at the box office are huge. This compels the studios to fork out large paychecks for him. For his upcoming movie (DC’s ‘Black Adam’), ‘The Great One’ will earn a figure even higher than what the studio paid to Oscar-winning actor Will Smith.

A report in Variety revealed that Johnson is set to pocket $22.5 million to play the lead in DC’s next flick. An unnamed studio executive also said, “Most actors aren’t worth what you pay them, but [Tom] Cruise and maybe Dwayne Johnson justify their salaries.”
This amount is more than the $20 million Will Smith earned as ‘Deadshot’ in the first Suicide Squad movie.
The Rock’s filmography is impressive, comprising numerous hits with franchises such as Fast and Furious and Jumanji. His next big movie will be the DC anti-hero flick ‘Black Adam’, where he plays the titular character, i.e. an ancient antihero released from imprisonment after 5,000 years.
Being associated with huge studios could result in a windfall for the former WWE champion, especially as The Rock is not just acting in his films.
Dwayne Johnson will earn way more than $22.5 million from Black Adam
As the ‘Brahma Bull’ is also producing the film with Seven Bucks Productions, it means he will take home his share of the profits at the box office as well.
The Rock’s star power is at an all-time high. While his acting has sometimes come under the scanner for following the same module, his money-making talents are not in doubt.

It is estimated that movies with Johnson in either a lead or supporting role have grossed over $10 billion worldwide.
For someone whose movie career didn’t take off well, Johnson’s turnaround into Hollywood’s most marketable name has been remarkable. DC will hope that they can turn around their fortunes with The Rock in ‘Black Adam’.
