This episode of Monday Night RAW started with Cody Rhodes addressing the audience. This was what fans were expecting after Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson‘s explosive promo on SmackDown. Everyone was waiting to see if Rhodes accepted Johnson’s Tag Team match challenge on Night #1 of WrestleMania XL. Rhodes addressed this, but before that, he went after Johnson’s Samoan heritage. Taking to the ring, Rhodes talked about how he gave Johnson his place at Mania after what the Hollywood star told him.

Taking to the ring, Rhodes explained how The Rock skillfully changed the subject during their conversation. He compared Johnson to a skilled politician. Rhodes even hinted that he might support The Rock in an election because he couldn’t completely ignore what The Rock said. According to Rhodes, The Rock suggested that the people wouldn’t want to see Cody fight Roman Reigns and that the match he proposed was what the people wanted. This is why Rhodes handed him his spot at Mania. However, Rhodes also added, “When I saw that stupid PowerPoint presentation of the family tree.” 

Cody Rhodes referred to the family tree presented by The Rock of all the Samoan wrestlers who were part of the WWE. This tree was showcased at the WrestleMania XL Kick-off event. This is what Rhodes claims ticked him off to come out and confront the Samoan family. According to Johnson, the Samoan family was the greatest wrestling family of all time.

Rhodes also included a bit where he told Johnson never to mention his dog in his videos. Ending the segment, he called out Seth Rollins as Rhodes wanted to know if Rollins would help him in the Tag Team match.

After Seth Rollins came out and spoke to Rhodes, he claimed that he was 100% cleared to compete. Rollins also added that he would be on SmackDown this upcoming Friday to confront The Bloodline. He asked Rhodes if he would support him during this. Rhodes said he also had a message for The Rock. He said it had been a long time since The Rock struggled, and he felt as if The Rock had forgotten his roots.

Rhodes also stated that he would be going to SmackDown with Rollins. He planned to stand face-to-face with the entire Bloodline and give The Rock a clear answer about what would happen at WrestleMania.
