Drew McIntyre shares his experience of meeting Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38
Recently, appearing in an interview with TalkSport, Drew McIntyre shared his experience of meeting Stone Cold Steve Austin before his match at WrestleMania 38.
McIntyre said, “I saw Steve right before he was going to start working on what he was going to do for ‘Mania. I walked in like ‘this is so crazy, you’re going to be on WrestleMania with Steve Austin.”
He added, “On the night of Mania I gave him some advice which is also surreal. He hasn’t done this for 20 years and I could see… Even though he’s a very confident, intense guy – the way the character is, that’s the way he is in real life – but no, I mostly just reminded him to breath.”
Even though Austin was excited for his first match after a long time, he was nervous. Austin has said multiple times that a new generation of fans would not cheer his wrestling style and so he hadn’t thought of a return in a long time. Drew McIntyre wants to bring back WWE European Title
This year on 3rd September, WWE is going to have a stadium event in the United Kingdom. Drew McIntyre shared that with this event coming up at Cardiff, UK, he wishes WWE could bring back the European Title.
McIntyre said, “Yes! I just want it. Because when I was a kid and I saw it I was like ‘ah man, I want to be European champion’ and now I can’t because it doesn’t exist right now. I don’t like too many titles and there are a lot right now, but I just wanted it when I was a kid. So just bring it back, let me win it and then I’ll retire it.”
