Ever since Sting hung up his wrestling gear at AEW Revolution 2024, life hasn’t been easy for his tag team partner. Darby Allin has only been seen in one match after the massive victory at Sting’s farewell match. After he lost to Jay White at AEW Dynamite ‘Big Business’, he hasn’t shown up in the promotion again. To make matters worse, his bad luck in the wrestling world carried onto his real life.
Recently, the AEW talent was met with an accident in New York City. Fans need not worry about Allin, as he has revealed that he is doing fine now. Those who wish to be updated on his physical condition have come to the right place.

The date of the accident is unknown for now. However, the 31-year-old revealed that it happened when he was in NYC. He was already suffering from a broken foot. Darby Allin stepped down to cross a street in the busy city. This is when he was hit by a bus that he couldn’t anticipate because of unknown circumstances.
While this incident could have proven fatal, the only visible injury that the wrestler endured was a broken nose. Allin took to Instagram to upload a picture alongside the popular artist Raymond Pettibon, sitting on a Broadway show.
“That awkward moment when you’re crossing the street in New York with a broken foot and get hit by a bus… [At] least I can have a good time with @raymond_pettibon_ and catch a Broadway show lol,” wrote the AEW star in the caption.

The former AEW Tag Team Champion feels better enough to catch one of the key attractions of New York City while he was in the city. Whether he could return to the ring this month is a question that has no answer as of now. However, if the accident didn’t pile on any additional injury except the broken nose, we might see him return soon. After all, AEW might have something special in store for him.

Sting had almost retired for good before he received a chance to sign with AEW. The wrestling legend’s return, although exciting to the fans, couldn’t come to par with the young talents of the industry. So, to tackle this situation judiciously, Sting needed to be booked in the best way possible. Tony Khan paired him up with Darby Allin, who grew up watching the legend in the ring. This was done so that the matches seemed balanced. Moreover, the industry veterans appreciated this smart booking by AEW’s CEO, despite all the criticisms that he receives regularly.
Does this mean that AEW has something interesting in store for Darby Allin whenever he gets better? Only time will tell.
