Arenas echoed with the sound of Goldberg’s name as he dominated and annihilated his competition in WCW. Goldberg held an impressive 173-0 undefeated streak, and that is the focal point of his upcoming WWE Untold documentary.

Goldberg comments on Sting

Goldberg shared his thoughts on several topics in a recent interview with Bleacher Report. He also spoke about WCW’s influence on the wrestling business even today and how ‘The Franchise of WCW’ played a vital role in it.

He said, “Sting is WCW. Period, end of story. People want to say it was me for a period of time, but he just handed the reins to me for a little bit. Sting is that promotion. That promotion is Sting.”

Not just that, but ‘The Iconic’ one also credited Sting for being a crucial aspect of him being a pro wrestler.

“Everything I learned, I learned from him. He was an integral part of my process of becoming a professional wrestler. I wouldn’t have done it without him.”

Goldberg and Sting were without a doubt two of WCW’s strongest assets. Although Goldberg came in the final years of the company, ‘The Icon’ was a mainstay and top guy for a long time.

Stinger’s surfer character and crow character, both got over pretty easily with the crowd. He battled and feuded against the likes of The Four Horsemen and the New World Order (nWo).

Both Goldberg and Sting initially did not sign with the WWE when the company bought WCW. Goldberg made his WWE debut in 2003, losing at the hands of Triple H. Sting made his debut in 2015 losing at the hands of none other than Triple H!

What the future holds for WCW’s top guys

Sting made his AEW debut a couple weeks ago on Dynamite. Tony Khan announced Sting had signed a full-time, multi-year contract with AEW. Goldberg is signed to WWE until 2023 that will see him wrestle twice per year.

‘The Iconic’ Goldberg has already wrestled two matches this year, but it looks like he’s coming back for more. In a recent appearance on WWE’s The Bump, the former Universal Champion called out Roman Reigns saying he wasn’t done yet.

We don’t know what the future holds for both these WWE Hall of Famers. But we know what’s sure – Roman Reigns being next. As far as ‘The Franchise’ goes, the only thing that is for sure about Sting is nothing is sure.
