It was remembered for Lesnar’s legit punch to Strowman. But what made Lesnar whip out his UFC moves?

When it comes to Lesnar as a pro wrestler, many forget that he does have a background in amateur wrestling. After conquering the WWE, The Beast moved on to the UFC and won the Heavyweight title. In short, he’s not the man you want to shoot wrestle with. This is something The Monster Among Men learned the hard way. Sitting down on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, he explained what led to the now infamous shoot-punch by Lesnar.
When asked about what really happened, Strowman answered, “I stiffed him on accident with the knee, and he wasn’t happy about it.” Fans were quick to notice that Lesnar no-sold the move and caught Strowman in the temple with a hard right. The Monster claimed that the punch didn’t feel good, and in slow-motion, fans could see just how hard the impact was. Speaking to Wrestling Travel, Strowman elaborated, “We laughed about it afterwards. It is what it is.”

While it was clear that there were no hard feelings between the titans, Lesnar has garnered a reputation for not being an easy person to work with. In fact, one of his arch nemesis in the WWE ring spoke about the same.

While speaking on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Reigns said, “He’s f**king Brock Lesnar, man, he picks you up and throws you on your head – there’s nothing nice about that. It’s very tough to work with a human being like that.” This one line by The Tribal Chief made it clear that taking bumps with Lesnar wasn’t normal. Nevertheless, a rivalry with The Beast Incarnate did propel Reigns’ career to greater heights.
