For years, the current co-CEO of WWE, Stephanie McMahon, played an authority figure on TV. She was perfect in her role, making life hell for the babyfaces on the roster. But away from TV, she appears to be a compassionate individual. She shares a strong bond with those working with her backstage. A popular WWE wrestler recently spoke about how Stephanie McMahon reached out to him while he was recovering in the hospital.

Legendary tag team wrestler D-Von Dudley has spent a large part of his career with the WWE. First, he was part of the famed ‘Dudley Boyz’ along with his partner Bubba Ray Dudley and is currently serving as a producer with the promotion.

However, a year ago, D-Von suffered a stroke and had to undergo surgery. While he was recovering, McMahon reached out to him.

Stephanie McMahon sent a heartfelt message to D-Von

After performing in WWE for years as a wrestler and then taking up a backstage role, D-Von got close with a lot of people in the promotion, including Stephanie McMahon.

The former tag team champion opened up on the ‘Billion Dollar Princess’ calling him when he was in the hospital.

He revealed McMahon’s heartwarming gesture on ‘The A2theK Wrestling Show and how she called him twice to check on him. D-Von said at that time he just had his brain surgery, therefore didn’t have his phone with him.

D-Von mentioned, “Stephanie called twice because she had just spoken to my wife and then called me twice and said ‘D-Von, I keep missing you; I’m sorry.’ She was like your wife told me you were okay, but I’m not gonna stop calling you until I hear it from your mouth personally. Stephanie didn’t have to do that, … but she did.”

This gesture from Vince McMahon’s daughter truly shows the bond she shares with those closest to her. This side of Stephanie McMahon is also completely opposite to the villainous persona she usually plays on TV.

D-Von Dudley remains one of the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history. With his partner, Bubba Ray Dudley, the duo won the tag team championships on ten occasions. WWE also inducted The Dudley Boyz into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
