Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio battled it out inside Hell in a Cell on Friday Night SmackDown. This match came to be after Reigns laid his hands on Dominik Mysterio a couple of weeks ago and brutally attacked him. Reigns had the size advantage, but Mysterio had several equalizers up his sleeve.

The match started with high octane action from the get-go. Mysterio immediately went outside the ring and got his hands on a fire extinguisher. He sprayed the extinguisher into Reigns’ face and followed it up by striking it on his head.

Mysterio continued his retribution on Reigns with the Steel Chair. After all, Reigns decimated his son! Mysterio unleashed his vicious side as he got the chair into Reigns’ neck and sent him into the cage wall. It all seemed like the ‘King of Lucha Libre’ would take the win. However, the ‘Tribal Chief‘ is no easy competitor to beat.

Despite going through a table at ringside, Reigns reversed a powerbomb attempt from Mysterio. He instead banged Mysterio into the steel cage twice. And then to add salt to his wounds, Reigns threw Rey Mysterio face-first into the steel cage.

All in all, the action inside the ring was very exciting. The best part? Despite the huge size difference, both men traded equal momentum. In fact, there was a point when it seemed Rey would win the match as he connected with two frog splashes after a 619. However, as we know, Reigns is as tough as they come.


Mysterio went for a West Coast Pop on Reigns off the top, but Reigns caught him. The ‘Tribal Chief’ then showcased his insane strength and power bombed Mysterio from the ring right into the steel cage! He then got Mysterio back in the ring and made him submit to a modified guillotine choke.

Despite winning the match, Reigns wasn’t done with Mysterio. He celebrated his win and then sent a strong message by putting Mysterio in another modified guillotine choke.
