Fans are an integral part of pro wrestling and how it works. The business is largely based on how fans react to certain angles and stories as well as the interaction of wrestlers with the audience. The relationship between the wrestlers in the ring and the fans behind the barricade is important to the product’s success. However, sometimes things can take an ugly turn when some fans decide to get in on the action. Over the years, there have been many incidents of fans jumping the barricade and attacking the wrestlers.

One such incidents involved the WWE legend, Hulk Hogan, during his first run with the company. Former WWE wrestler, Mario Mancini, recently, talked about how a fan once tried to attack Hogan, while the ‘Hulkster’ was in the ring with another wrestler, One-Man Gang.

Mancini revealed what happened after a fan tried to attack Hulk Hogan

Fans getting in the ring is a precarious situation as they could end up harming wrestlers before anyone could get to them. As such, wrestling companies take care to ensure such incidents are minimized so that their wrestlers can perform freely.

Still, there have been quite a few incidents of fans attacking wrestlers on the show. Last year a fan attacked WWE star, Seth Rollins, on an edition of Monday Night RAW. Mario Mancini spoke about one such incident featuring former WWE Champion, Hulk Hogan, on the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast. He talked about how a fan jumped to attack Hogan when he was in the ring with One-Man Gang.

Mancini recalled, “One time when George and Hogan went out in Chicago, the One-Man Gang. That guy jumped in the ring and tried to beat up Hogan, and George caught him and started kicking the s**t out of him. And Hogan turned around and joined him, just beat the hell out of the guy until security came.”

Moreover, Mancini said that both wrestlers went backstage and came out to do the whole entrance all over again. He mentioned this was the first time he saw a do-over in WWE, while he was there.

Interestingly, the fan who tried to attack Hogan later wrestled for WCW under the name Roadblock after failing to get a WWE contract. An unruly fan crossing over to the ring to attack a pro wrestler is never a welcome sight. In this incident, anything could’ve happened if the wrestlers hadn’t taken care of the business themselves.
