LA Knight is the hottest commodity in the WWE as of now. The Megastar has battled the odds in the company to push himself from Max Dupri to the Yeah star. Though a bit of backstage politics halted his growth, the former Impact Wrestling Champion is now on the main event scene.

While the wrestling world prepares itself to see Knight battle Roman Reigns at Riyadh, fans in Saudi Arabia were cheering him many months ago. We take a look at the special anecdote that made LA Knight a main event material.

An LA Knight fan with a handle named The YEAH! Revolution on X posted a clip of Triple H addressing the media in Saudi Arabia. When Triple H announced, “Excited to be back here”, the crowd started chanting “LA Knight, LA Knight”. It was the beginning of the LA Knight wave in Saudi Arabia.

The tweet was made on Nov 3rd with the caption, “On May 26, Saudi Arabia is where this YEAH! Revolution took off to an entirely new level when the fans interrupted Triple H’s presser with LA Knight chants. We’ll never forget that. THANK YOU, especially to our Saudi representative, @ahmeddragunov!

It was a reference to the moment WWE realized how over LA Knight is among fans. Triple H was present ahead of the Night of the Champions PLE that occurred in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The same night, Knight had a match against Rick Boogs who was a lower mid-card performer.

163 days later, WWE returns to Saudi Arabia with Knight at the top of the card and in the main event scene. It was the crowd all across the globe that recognized the talent of LA Knight while WWE continued to treat him as a jobber or lower mid-card performer.

LA Knight gets a push to the main event scene

However, the biggest push that he received was a backstage segment with Paul Heyman on the episode of SmackDown on 8th September. It was followed by Knight declaring that he would soon be a champion, even if it was to take away Roman Reigns’ title.

When the Tribal Chief returned to SmackDown after his 2 months slumber, he was acknowledged by John Cena and the Tulsa crowd, but Knight had different ideas. WWE arranged a match between Knight and Reigns, thus pushing The Megastar to the main event scene.
