WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes and his story are one of the hottest topics in the pro wrestling world right now. What started off as a gimmick quickly took the whole world by storm and now holds a deeper meaning. The motivation for becoming the Undisputed champion of WWE, something which his father was unable to become has been driving Rhodes on the path to glory. Due to this, he was able to win the Royal Rumble twice and will be main-eventing WrestleMania a second time this year. However, an old friend of Cody Rhodes, Nic Nemeth f.k.a Dolph Ziggler has a different perspective on Finish The Story gimmick.

Is Cody Rhodes’ Finish The Story overrated?

While Dolph Ziggler might have not stated this directly, this is what his words might sound like. Apart from that, he highlighted a major loophole in the whole gimmick of the American Nightmare. In a clip that is now circulating over the internet, the former WWE star feels like the whole idea doesn’t sit well. “I appreciate this two-year story I do, I just think it’s so funny that ‘finishing the story ‘ is not like the end of the storyline it’s like ‘no he has to win ’cause his dad wasn’t a champion’ That’s the story?!”

When the host of the show, Dave LaGreca pointed out that the story is also about all the things Rhodes went through, Dolph Ziggler had a response for that as well. He said, “Hasn’t everybody else who wasn’t a legacy in the business had to go through a bunch of stuff too? Cody (Rhodes) isn’t the only one.”

Ziggler was one of the many stars who were released from WWE during the massive budget cuts following the TKO merger. However, Dolph Ziggler happened to be the last person fans would expect him to say something like this. He, along with stars such as The Miz, Matt Cordana f.k.a Zack Ryder, and Rhodes happened to be friends.

But it looks like fans have something to say about his comments on Rhodes’ story.

Fans think Dolph Ziggler has bittered down after release

As soon as the clip started doing rounds over the internet, fans decided to share their opinions on his comments. While fans commended him for stating the truth and being fearless, a couple of fans believed that Ziggler might have turned a bit bitter.

Another fan pointed out that he did not share his complaints with Rhodes before he was fired from WWE, which may be the cause of such a harsh take.

One of the fans asked where was this persona of Dolph Ziggler in WWE. Responding to this, an X user stated that this reaction from DZ may be stemming from Cody’s WrestleMania success while he is just exercising free speech.
