The tournament to crown the brand-new World Heavyweight Champion began on this week’s Raw. In the first round, Seth Rollins picked up the victory against Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura. In the second round, Finn Balor secured his victory by defeating Cody Rhodes and The Miz.
Later that night, Rollins pinned Balor in a singles tournament match. Therefore, becoming the first challenger to advance to the tournament final at WWE Night of Champions from the Raw brand.
This week on SmackDown, Edge, AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, Sheamus will compete in two separate triple threat matches to secure a position in the finals. That being said, a recent message from ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ has made him the top pick for the brand-new Championship.

Edge wants to finish his story before retirement
Just hours before this week’s Friday Night SmackDown, ‘The Ultimate Opportunist’ shared a message on Twitter. In his video, he talked about his upcoming triple threat match against ‘The Master of 619’ and ‘The Phenomenal’. He has a history with both superstars and mentioned that he is looking forward to seeing them inside the ring.
He spoke highly of both of his upcoming opponents. And he also claimed that the three wrestlers will tear the house down on the blue brand show. He then added that he hopes to win the tournament and win the title eventually at Night of Champions. He is close to hanging up his wrestling boots. And it is important for him to finish his story.

He wants to complete his WWE “book” with the last title win. And to do that, he wants to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship that his neck injury forced him to give up in 2011.
