“So Sorry to Hear This”: Dwayne Johnson’s Relative & Anoa’i Family Member Hospitalized Due to Debilitating Health Issues, Fans Send Prayers

The news has broken that an Anoa’i family member related to Dwayne Johnson was hospitalized. The former WWE wrestler was a part of the wrestling stable Legacy with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Though his time was short in the WWE, he did make a name for himself and the large Samoan dynasty of wrestlers.

With the news of his hospitalization, fans have flocked to give support to the wrestler and his family.

Afa Anoa’i Jr. was hospitalized due to severe cardiac issues

Over the weekend, Anoa’i Jr. was hospitalized due to severe and unexpected complex cardiac issues. A GoFundMe was posted to social media with more details. It started, “heart injection fraction is only working at 35%, and his heart is filling with fluid by the hours.” This outlines Anoa’i Jr.’s condition, and it was not looking good.

In October 2006, Afa Anoa’i Jr. was asked to try out for the WWE at their Deep South Wrestling development territory. The following month, he signed on and debuted the following year. At 2007’s WWE Heat, he wrestled and lost to Jim Duggan under the name Mai Tai Anoa’i.

He later appeared at Unforgiven in 2008 with a new name, ‘Manu.’ He would align with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase to attack Cryme Tyme and help Orton. Unfortunately, his run at WWE would end on February 23, 2009. He would wrestle in independent circuits before starting BattleField Pro Wrestling in Pennsylvania.

Following the announcement, fans quickly showed their support for Anoa’i Jr. and sent in their well wishes and prayers. The GoFundMe for the medical bills is set for $100,000 with over $6000 already raised. The post by Lance Anoa’i, Anoa’i Jr.’s nephew, was also filled with positive messages.
