One superstar in AEW has certainly risen above all the others in terms of popularity. Maxwell Jacob Friedman, or MJF, has improved his branding immensely while putting on viral moments in WWE’s North American competition. So, it goes without saying that WWE is hoping that the AEW World Champion could jump ship.

While he might be at the top of the company right now, fans are starting to lose interest in him. So, jumping to WWE won’t just be great for the company, but also for Friedman as well, according to this wrestling legend.

On the Keepin’ it 100 podcast, in the fan Q&A session, a fan argued that MJF’s spark ended after the CM Punk feud. The CM Punk feud in AEW was the prime time when the two delivered amazing promos. But disputing this, wrestling legend, Konnan plainly said, “Do I actually need to explain it to you? He’s [MJF] on a whole ‘another level. Bad booking seems to be something that’s followed not just him but a lot of people. Imagine him in WWE, going back and forth with a plethora of guys. From Sami Zayn to Kevin Owens, Riddle to Orton… So many people.

If you remember from his early days in WCW, Rey Mysterio was once helped by Konnan, who got kicked out from the nWo for doing so. Even MJF has teased fans about hopping from AEW on the mic a few times, but there is no confirmation about it. But if there was a likely chance that MJF could turn his back on AEW and Tony Khan, he would end up at a place with unlimited potential.

Obviously, the higher-ups would not start him in NXT, so he will make a big debut at a major event. Going against the champion from the start would be a foolish decision, as there needs to be some credibility behind MJF’s name. So, an easy and excellent choice would be Seth Rollins or Sami Zayn. From there, it is just a plethora of stories and matches to be told and performed in front of the biggest stages in the world.
