Once upon a time, The Monster Abyss was supposed to collide with The Undertaker at WrestleMania. While any other Superstar would’ve jumped on that offer, Abyss was different. Even though his employers at the time weren’t the biggest or most popular wrestling promotion, his loyalty didn’t allow him to make the switch to WWE that could have potentially made him a household name.
Nevertheless, it seems like he gained the respect of Vince McMahon. That’s why, after his career with Impact Wrestling folded, McMahon brought Joseph Park (man behind the Abyss character) to the WWE as a backstage producer.

However, the professional wrestling genius of the monster was meant for the camera. Last night on SmackDown, Park made his first ever on-screen appearance for the WWE. Sure, it was not as an in-ring competitor but as a manager for AJ Styles. But the fact that he found a way to be useful as an on-screen character after the completion of his in-ring career speaks volumes about his talent.

Not to forget that the “never say never” saying is the foundation of this business. If circumstances permit, we might soon see The Monster’s Ball in a WWE ring.
That possibility has been exciting wrestling fans worldwide. Much of the younger generation that watches the WWE product today has grown up with TNA as the closest competitor to McMahon’s monoply. Not surprisingly, they have fond memories of the glory days of the Nashville based promotion.
Abyss was a significant part of TNA’s rise and his battles with the likes of Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles himself are a part of professional wrestling folklore.
Fans want to see Monster Abyss perform in WWE
Twitter was full of fantasy scenarios leading to an Abyss return. Fans want him to turn on AJ Styles and bring back his deranged persona.

Considering how WWE loves using old people to pop ratings, I’m expecting Styles’ current angle as a means to setup Abyss debuting. https://t.co/GIdr72ucT0

One of the biggest wrestling shockers of 2020 is the WWE debut of Joseph Park. Don't know if he's going to be a regular & connected with Styles but it was good seeing his neurotic yet charming self on Smackdown. Even though he's washed, might be a chance Abyss shows up as well.

I could not possibly care less about WWE right now, but AJ Styles and Abyss on the same screen in 2020 makes me smile. https://t.co/wYPvu8sPR7

You just know Abyss hasn't had an in-ring appearance in WWE yet because Vince McMahon probably thinks no one knows who he is 😂🤣#SmackDown

WWE deciding to pair up AJ Styles & Joseph Park (Abyss) together is a brilliant move. These two have magic chemistry together and can make for great TV.
Hopefully they keep this going and don’t nix it.
