The Retribution continued their anarchist streak on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. This time, they went after the top guy of the brand.
As Braun Strowman and The Fiend prepared for a thunderous showdown, they were interrupted by the group of masked hoodlums. Surprisingly, it seemed like the former Wyatt Family compatriots will reunite to fend off the Retribution.

However, Wyatt had other plans as he escaped from the ring. That left Strowman to fend for himself against this pack of hungry wolves. Even then, we thought Strowman was more than capable to defend himself like he has in the past.

However, it seems like the WWE seeks to establish The numbers game of the group as a legitimate threat. They laid waste to “The Monster Among Men”, stomping him down like any other member of the roster.
SmackDown roster confronts The Retribution
The SmackDown roster decided that they won’t let this group of thugs take over their show anymore. A major part of the lockeroom rushed out to clear the ring and save their champion.
However, the Retribution still held the numbers advantage. That led to see second wave of Superstars led by King Corbin joining the fray. Thankfully, they were finally able to defend their house against the invaders.

You might feel like the Champion would be grateful to his colleagues for saving the day. Unfortunately, Strowman’s ego was too big to acknowledge that. As soon as he got up on his feet, he took out Drew Gulak and Jey Uso – two of the men who had come out in his defense.

It’s clear as day that Braun is anything but a babyface at this point. Even if he’s not a full blown heel, his character has achieved a degree of moral ambiguity that bends more towards the evil.
Do you think that’s the right pathway for Strowman? Let us known in the comments section.
