Also, Hunter is on his way to changing the multiple PLEs. However, it seems now WWE has something in its pocket for the blue brand.

On the recent episode of SmackDown before Crown Jewel, WWE had a major announcement for the fans. Next week the WWE Universe will witness the first-ever SmackDown World Cup.

The official WWE Twitter revealed the news, “The [SmackDown] World Cup begins NEXT WEEK!”

As of now, there are no updates about what the tournament actually aims at. Will there be just a cup for the winner or the company plans to have something else as the price? 

The last time WWE held a World Cup, the final was at Crown Jewel in 2018. Dolph Ziggler and The Miz were the finalists, but Shane McMahon replaced ‘The A-Lister’ last minute and won the world cup. Therefore, Shane O’Mac might be back to defend his cup.

Whatever the plans may be, the WWE universe will enjoy this new tournament on the blue brand. Also, this tournament can determine the next challenger for the Undisputed WWE Universal title.

Nevertheless, there is not much information about the tournament right now. We have to wait until next week to find out the participation and the first look at the World Cup.
