A couple of weeks ago, WWE’s best team The New Day split up in one of the saddest moments of the 2020 Draft. Big E would be staying on SmackDown while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would be going to Raw as the Raw Tag Team Champions.
Although Kofi and Xavier Woods were distraught about the breakup, Big E did not take it well. Frustrated by the lack of logic in the split, the Superstar was visibly upset after the news hit them.

In a recent interview on After the Bell, Big E himself revealed what it felt like being in the final moments as a part of ‘The New Day’. The three of them had an emotional farewell on last week’s episode of SmackDown.
“We had our promo with the three of us kind of saying our goodbyes, and one of the things that was important for us is when we have in-ring promos. It’s usually nonsense and shenanigans. But we wanted this to feel real,” revealed the big man.
The New Day has been WWE’s best team for the past 5 years
The New Day has been the dominant force in WWE’s Tag Team division for years now. Their versatility had made them immovable objects, and they won the Tag Team Championship 10 times.
This includes an impressive seven reigns as SmackDown tag team Champion and 3 reigns as Raw Tag Team Champions. The gravity of the split ended this era of dominance.
Although many fans find New Day’s gimmick childish and cringe, they have really made it iconic and have a separate fan base of their own.
Big E went on to describe just how important the team was for him. Even though he will get a solo path carved out for him on SmackDown, he is still hurting over the split.
