Roman Reigns is out to have some relaxing time away from the ring after a shattering title loss at WrestleMania, but luck isn’t being kind to him. Bearing a strenuous defeat and watching his own faction getting seized, the Big Dog is currently surviving one of the biggest griefs of his life, Sika Anoai’s untimely demise.
The entire wrestling trajectory came to an abrupt halt as the Hall of Famer father, Leati Sika Amituana’i Anoaʻi navigated toward the other world. On Tuesday, June 25th, nephew Jahrus Anoa’i through an Instagram post wished ‘Uncle Sika’ a perpetual rest in love, leaving the whole world desolated. Reigns also articulated his deep-seated feelings online and thanked his fans for pouring their unconditional love and support during the testing time. That said, fans not only just mourned the loss, but they also dug out some precious father-son memories from the old wrestling archives.

Roman Reigns possesses the honor of being the longest-reigning world champion in the modern era, ideally justifying the essence of the WWE moniker. While some brickbats scornfully dubbed him as the part-time champion, that didn’t affect his shine even a bit. But if we go back to his bloodline, searching for the root of the legacy, the first name that popped up was his father, Sika Anoa’i. One half of the wild Samoan’s prized career, containing a host of accolades and honors, clearly reflects where his son got all the wonder talents. But it’s vice versa. Father Sika also owed a part of his life and career to his kids.
While delivering a Hall of Fame speech back in 2007, the veteran burst with emotion noting, ‘I thank you, my kids, my son, Roman, my daughter, Saba, Marrisa, Vanesa, my son Joe, I thank you for being great kids and help me thank you so much.’
After 14 years, the video resurfaced on the internet to take us down the sweetest memory lane.

Anoa’i also separately acknowledged his younger son’s incredible career achievement by elevating him to the rank of the official head of the family.

Revisiting Sika Anoai’s emotional encounter with Roman Reigns
In a recently released A&E biography of Roman Reigns, the Tribal Chief revealed a valuable piece of advice from his late dad. Sika told his offspring that money is the most important component in the pro wrestling business and that drawing money is a skill that he should excel in. Staying true to his predecessor’s path, Reigns has raked in lucrative figures in his WWE tenure so far.
Before leaving his child alone on his journey, Sika appeared on WWE TV for one last time during the 2020 Hell in the Cell Premium Live Event and greeted Reigns with a lei. After the Bloodline leader defeated Jey Uso to retain the gold, he received the unique title of the Head of the Table from his father. It was an utterly proud and emotional display of a professional-personal bond between the father-son duo.
