When CM Punk moves, controversy follows. The 45-year-old has rubbed many people up the wrong way in his WWE and AEW career. Tony Khan kicked out the outspoken wrestler following his backstage scuffle with Jack Perry during the AEW All-In. Although the AEW Boss had to deal with some backlash for his abrupt decision, there’s a huge force inside the WWE locker room who never wanted Punk back as their peer.

Regardless of everything, Punk returned. However, that air of antipathy didn’t disappear from the discussion. Sami Zayn recently referred to that popular anti-punk emotion inside the division while clarifying his current relationship with the Seventh City Saint.

Appearing as a guest in Gorilla Position, The Great Liberator noted ”He’s the person just walking around and you’re the only one all of a sudden under a cloud of negativity so I just don’t wanna that cloud so like has there been some weird stuff between us in the past? Sure, I think 90% of people you ask about Punk would say the same. As far as I’m concerned, we have to work together. You’re here, and you’ve been through a lot in your life. Let’s just clean slate and start over. That’s it.”

CM Punk not only resumed his 10-year-old WWE run but also he quickly climbed to the top spot of the promotion within months. Although the 45-year-old has been on the shelf because of a torn tricep, his brand value remains intact, with fans anxiously awaiting his return every week on TV. However, there still seems some kind of animosity between the fighter and his contemporaries in WWE.

That “90% of people” claim of Zayn about Punk wasn’t hollow. He also had some private altercations with Zayn’s closest buddy, Kevin Owens.

CM Punk also pissed Kevin Owens off over some minor disagreements

CM Punk and Kevin Owens spent years together in the Ring of Honor, with the former enjoying his extra sway as the locker room leader and head trainer. Punk, back then, reportedly opposed Owens’ effort to get in his way. He also didn’t like The Headlock Master’s shape and attire. While it was seemingly a petty issue, Owens didn’t get over it at all.

He chose to sting back with a subtle social media jibe when Khan overturned Punk’s contract last year. Owens also recently commented on his equation with Punk on The Gorilla Position podcast, saying, “Well, we have no relationship. No, we’re not each other’s type of people, I don’t think. We’ll acknowledge each other. There’s a ten-foot vicinity that if we enter in, then we have to kinda ‘Hey. Hi.’ Otherwise, we just don’t, and it’s fine. It’s perfectly fine.”
