At the beginning of the year, Bayley and Bianca Belair’s rivalry kicked off in epic fashion. They faced on a bunch of matches on SmackDown and even competed in an obstacle course challenge. Belair outclassed Bayley, won the Royal Rumble and beat Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Her first title defence? Ding Dong! It’s Bayley! The Role Model took Belair to the limit at Backlash and Hell in a Cell, but the EST of WWE triumphed on both ocassions. Speaking to Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97, Belair heaped braise on the longest reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion.

“Bayley is amazing. I’ve been so blessed; like my first feud on SmackDown was with Bayley. And you know, I got the momentum by pinning Bayley before Royal Rumble and and after WrestleMania I’ve gone back to Bayley and she’s kind of been there every step of my journey.”

“She’s a locker room leader. She’s a veteran I say this all the time. What’s amazing about Bayley is that Bayley makes sure that she goes to the table to eat but she also pulls up a chair beside her so that you can eat with her. Anytime I get into the into the ring with Bayley she elevates herself but she also elevates me as well.”

During the interview, Belair stated she wouldn’t be the SmackDown Women’s Champion without Bayley. An apt analysis, especially since her rivalry with the Role Model this year launched her into the stratosphere.

“It’s just been so fun to work with her, she’s so fun to work off of and so creative in the Hell in the Cell match. It was just I think we both shined in that match, but Bailey is just someone who will elevate anybody that she comes in contact with. And she’s so much a part of my title reign as well. I wouldn’t be able to be champion without her. So Bayley’s just amazing. I can’t say enough good things about Bayley.”

Despite the praise from Bianca, Bayley doesn’t have a single good thing to say about Belair. She blamed the WWE Universe for her injury before taking nine months off to recover. However, when she returns, she will gun for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
