WWE Superstar Elias will be out of action for the next few weeks due to an injury.
If you recall, last week’s Friday night smackdown opened with a scene. There we police cars and cops investigating a crash.
Apparently, Jeff Hardy under the influence of alcohol ran a car into Elias. However, it was later revealed that it wasn’t Jeff Hardy alone, but Sheamus who set the whole thing up!

Yes, the Celtic Warrior has done it again. Only this time, instead of using pure muscle and brute force, he used a car to do his dirty work and framed an innocent Jeff Hardy!
As compelling as the story sounds, the truth doesn’t end here. This entire story was an attempt to cover up the real thing. The truth is that Elias suffered an injury in his pectoral muscle and WWE wanted to cover it up.
Elias had been having trouble for weeks, and it finally caught up to him. Realizing that he would be unable to compete, WWE had to find a way to break it to the fans.
The reason the entire situation isn’t a normal writing off is that Elias was set up to compete with AJ Styles in the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament.
WWE was forced to announce that AJ Styles would be receiving a bye in the tournament. He will now face Daniel Bryan in the finals of the tournament.
This was supposed to be a big match for Elias.
WWE didn’t let the situation go to waste, however. The used the opportunity for Sheamus to get his boots in the Jeffy Hardy feud by the whole car-ramming incident.
This would provide a reasonable explanation to the crowd as to why Elias can’t compete. It would also further fuel the fire burning between Sheamus and Jeff Hardy, setting them up for a future feud.
WWE explained how Elias had a few broken ribs and a pectoral muscle injury. This was just to promote the car crash scene. In reality, he just has a pectoral muscle injury.

Elias has been under-appreciated at WWE so far. His talents have not been put to good use. He was set up for failure when his WWE debut was pitted up against Cena.
This was during a time when everyone wanted to see Cena vs The Undertaker. The crowd was so undersold on the Cena Vs Elias fixture that WWE had to finally bring in ‘The Deadman’ for the main event.
It was unclear whether this was the original intention of WWE, sort of like a big picture thing. Either way, Elias was just pushed to the side, making his comeback very hard.
