‘She Went to the Office’: Ronda Rousey Made WWE Agree to a Personal Demand After Losing World Title to Charlotte Flair

Ronda Rousey returned to WWE a few weeks ago after a brief hiatus because of an arm injury. Upon her return, she made her intentions very clear. On the 05/15 edition of Monday Night Raw, she and her tag team partner Shayna Baszler attacked Raquel Rodriguez and demanded a tag team championship match.

Luckily for them, Liv Morgan and Rodriguez had to drop their titles because of the former’s sudden injury. On May 29, the tag team of former MMA fighters won the gold in a fatal-four-way match. Recently, ‘The Queen of Spades’ revealed how her tag team partner’s bold nature helped them get a tag title run in the promotion.

Baszler recently joined Peter Rosenberg on his Cheap Heat podcast. During the interview, she revealed that she and her tag team partner had been asking for a title run for quite a while. But every time, WWE would dodge their request by making up an excuse or two.

‘The Rowdy One’ had been eyeing the tag team prize ever since she lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair last year in December. After a while, she got tired of all the excuses. And thus she made her wish about going after the tag team titles very clear.

She said, “This was something she demanded. We’d been asking for it forever. But she finally put her foot down and went to the office and said, ‘Listen, we’ve been asking for this forever. You keep telling us, ‘After, after, after this, this.’”

It is no secret Rousey is an influential star in WWE. Therefore, when she firmly asked WWE to give her and ‘The Queen of Spades’ a title run, the promotion couldn’t say no this time. This is how the former MMA tag team partners became the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Baszler also mentioned that she would have never been in the title picture if it weren’t for ‘Rowdy Ronda’.

During the interview, Baszler pointed out that Rousey is a top star in the Stamford-based promotion and belongs in the title picture. Whereas she is far from achieving what her teammate has already gained in the promotion. There was no need for ‘Rowdy’ to team up with her, as she was a big star on her own. Still, she did it anyway.
