AEW is one of the most promising promotions. Over the years, many wrestlers jumped ship from WWE and joined AEW. However, the company itself has been successful in crafting wrestlers such as MJF, Sammy Guevara, Tay Melo, and many others. All of these young guns learned from the best, and are currently proving their worth on the roster.

Sammy Guevara has been under the tutelage of Chris Jericho for a long time in AEW and has honed his craft. Jericho and Guevara have been working together in the promotion and shared the ring more than a few times.

Guevara and his wife AEW star Tay Melo are two of the talented stars on the AEW roster and have been part of engaging storylines. Recently, Guevara and his wife revealed an incident that proved their dedication to their craft.

While WWE has softened down on the gore and the violence, AEW regularly pushed the envelope. It often uses blood to enhance the brutality factor.

In a recent interview, Guevara revealed that during Melo’s street match, she suffered a brutal injury to her head that left her bloody. Melo would confirm the incident, and reveal how she tackled the situation, and what position it left her in.

Head injuries are one of the riskiest injuries in the business, and recently Melo was at the receiving end of one. She and her husband recently revealed in an interview with Elite POV about it. Guevara would state she would take out a thumbtack from her head while they were on their flight.

He said, “On the flight, Tay’s like, ‘Oh, my braids are so tight, it feels like something is stabbing me.’ Then, she’s trying to take out her braids, and then she takes a thumbtack out of her head.”

As gory as it sounds, it might have been more than in real life. Melo would further explain the incident. She said, “It was hurting so much. I know what it was. It was all the way in, and I had such a bad headache, and I had blood in my hair.[…] I took a shower at the arena, but I had no time to wash my hair because it takes a long time, so I just did a little crazy thing and went to the airport with blood in my hair.”

Both Guevara and Melo are two rising stars in AEW, and this moment signified her as a tough wrestler. Jericho is currently in a feud over the ROH World Championship. However, it was his feud with Guevara back in the day, that elevated Guevara to a promising position.

AEW fans will now need to wait and see what is in store for Guevara and Melo in the future.
