“She Thought I Was Still a Child. I’m a Monster Now”: Rhea Ripley Slams Charlotte Flair for Underestimating Her at WrestleMania 39

Rhea Ripley has faced a number of foes this year. Some would argue that her career escalated after facing Charlotte Flair earlier in 2023. Even though the duo didn’t ‘main event’ at WrestleMania 39, fans still enjoyed their match. That was the night when The Eradicator took on the mantle of WWE’s Women’s World Champion and has since been wrestling to defend it.

Although the match gave way to a monstrous defender that night, the dominating wrestler still hasn’t forgiven Flair for going easy on her. According to Ripley, Flair still treated her like a ‘child’ at WrestleMania 39 as she didn’t consider that Mami must have grown a lot since their match at WrestleMania 36.

Rhea Ripley calls out Charlotte Flair for underestimating her

Despite being on a victory streak since WM 39, Ripley hasn’t forgotten about the hurt that ‘Queen’ caused her in April this year. While Mami was in India due to her performance at WWE’s Superstar Spectacle, she exclusively talked to India Today. In the interview, she was talking about facing the next big opponent when she remembered her match at Mania 2023.

Ripley mentioned that she would like to face Becky Lynch head-on if she gets the chance. Then, she confessed how ‘The Man’ wouldn’t be ready for the challenge Mami would give her. Ripley then recalled, “Like what happened at WrestleMania 39, Charlotte underestimated me. She thought I was still the child that she wrestled at WrestleMania 36.” She further added to her statement, “I’m a completely different animal. I’m a monster these days. I’m a nightmare. I’m an Eradicator.”

Not only is she boasting about how much of a destroyer she has become, but Ripley is also expressing her frustration about the fact that her former rival underestimated her potential.

But does Ripley’s mention of her past rival mean something significant in terms of her future feuds? Where is WWE planning to go with the current Women’s World Champion?

There are a number of speculations at any point in time when we talk about a WWE superstar’s future feud. Similarly, with Rhea Ripley, there have been a number of hints. While some pointed toward a possible future feud with Jey Uso, some hints even showed how she might victimize John Cena next. However, in the same interview with India Today, Ripley told the Indian media house that she wishes to wrestle against Becky Lynch.

Although neither WWE nor Ripley has confirmed whether this feud is a work in progress, her will alone tells us that she might plan an assault on the 36-year-old soon. So far, her mention of Charlotte Flair was merely a recollection of the ‘Queen’ underestimating her. And fans may not get to see a rematch anytime soon.
