Ronda Rousey isn’t having the best of times when it comes to winning over the WWE audience. After the company tweaked her character to be more of a heel, they hoped for a turnaround in fan reaction and interest.

But so far things haven’t changed. In fact, recently #FireRondaRousey began trending on Twitter after she was involved in a botch during a match on SmackDown.

This was botch was the second Rousey had been a part of in quick succession with her spot with Shotzi also not landing perfectly at Survivor Series.

During their title match last month, Rousey appeared to block a DDT attempt by Shotzi onto the apron, which resulted in Shotzi falling to the floor.

In her latest gaming stream, the current SmackDown Women’s Champion talked about this spot.  She also mentioned how she is trying to help new talent as a champion.

However, as is the case with almost everything Rousey does these days in WWE, fans lashed out at her in-ring skills among other things.

Fans lash out at Ronda Rousey for Survivor Series botch

Since her return to WWE earlier this year, Ronda Rousey has found success in the ring again. She won the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble and has been the SmackDown Women’s champion twice. But the fans haven’t been impressed in the least.

Her lack of mic skills and struggles in the ring has been a big factor in swaying fan opinion against her. The latest botch at Survivor Series did little to change that.

Speaking during her gaming stream, Rousey addressed the botched DDT involving Shotzi and took responsibility for it. She said they didn’t get to practice the move beforehand and was focused on keeping Shotzi safe.

Rousey said that this led to her blocking the move, which eventually led to the botch. The former UFC Champion also apologized for her error. The Baddest Woman on the Planet said due to this people were calling for her to be fired.

Rousey also talked about how she wants to help and elevate the new talent around her. Still, fans were not keen on her apology and disputed her desire to put other talents over.

Fans targeted Rousey for her in-ring skills and botching the move against Shotzi.

Some fans also disputed her claims of elevating new talent over.

There were other comments bashing Ronda Rousey.

Ronda Rousey’s next challenger on SmackDown

After Ronda Rousey retained her SmackDown Women’s title at Survivor Series, the field is now open for her next challenger.

The former RAW Women’s Champion has expressed a desire to face new talents and Raquel Rodriguez could offer that challenge. Apart from her, a returning Charlotte Flair could also resume her rivalry with the Rowdy One.

There have been reports of WWE also planning on having Becky Lynch face Rousey one-on-one at WrestleMania 39 in what would be one of the biggest matches on the card. Lynch and Rousey, of course have a history dating back to WrestleMania 35.

In the first-ever women’s main event at WrestleMania, Lynch became the first woman to pin Rousey in WWE and won both the SmackDown and RAW Women titles.
