If a list of the current WWE main roster is made in terms of the amount of talent, Charlotte Flair will surely feature near the top. The amount of exuberance she displays in the squared circle or even outside it is largely unmatched. But it doesn’t mean she did not have her share of criticism from the masses.

 And Flair recently hit back at trolls who made fun of her physique and regularly bemoaned about how she did not meet their set standards of appearance.

Charlotte Flair opens up about her struggles in her initial days

The 14-time women’s champion appeared on the latest episode of the A&E show Biography: WWE Legends. Therein, she opened up on a difficult phase in her life. Flair talked about suffering from body dysmorphia, a mental condition where one is constantly finding flaws in their own body.

She also went through breast augmentation surgery. The Grand Slam champion came down hard on her detractors who were critical of her appearance. She has previously also questioned the fans for criticizing her.

She said, When I quit Volleyball in college, I had nothing to be passionate for and I think that manifested in other ways like maybe I wasn’t good enough. Maybe body dysmorphia, but I was more hurting myself mentally than physically. I was 20 when I got my first breast augmentation.

“Because I thought okay, if I had you know a bigger chest, that would make me more beautiful. That really like affected me. Online, I’ve gotten so much criticism over the years Charlotte’s built like a man, Charlotte looks like an iPhone, she has no a** like constant every day,” added Flair.

With the unprecedented success that ‘The Queen’ has had during her career, it’s easy for people to disregard her struggles. However, her recent remarks have made it clear that she had to endure a lot of issues in her quest for greatness. Further proof that the path to success has a lot of thorns that one has to deal with.

Apart from going through the physical rigor of surgery, she had to deal with mental issues as well owing to body dysmorphia. However, Flair is not the only WWE superstar who experienced the issue. Her WrestleMania 39 opponent Rhea Ripley also once went through the same problem.

Ripley has also admitted to suffering from body dysmorphia

It’s almost impossible to imagine a physical specimen like ‘The Eradicator’ being under-confident about her body. Despite being in prime shape, Ripley went through a mental dilemma about it.

The Judgement Day member spoke about her troubles with the condition on a recent appearance in the Lilian Garcia podcast.

It wouldn’t have been easy to come out with her troubles and would have required massive courage on Ripley’s part.

Charlotte Flair has always been in the public eye, not only for her wrestling talents but also for her physique. And constantly being under such scrutiny is bound to affect even the strongest.
