In the last few days, due to the collaboration between WWE NXT and TNA, there has been a lot of speculation about which TNA wrestlers were going to be in the ‘Battle Royal’ that was to be held this Tuesday in NXT for a title opportunity against Trick Williams for the NXT title in Heatwave. Several names were discussed, although Joe Hendry was the one who stood out the most.

Finally, the prayers were answered, as Joe Hendry was the penultimate to enter the match, receiving a spectacular ovation from the fans. Minutes earlier, Frankie Kazarian also appeared and, in fact, made sure that Hendry was eliminated. It is important to note that both are involved in a feud in TNA. Kazarian was eliminated a few minutes later by Je’Von Evans. Joe Hendry then showed his frustration with Shawn Michaels backstage after he was eliminated.

Although the match was won by Je’Von Evans as he won the opportunity to challenge Trick Williams for the NXT Championship, fans were left unsatisfied with the outcome. They surely want Hendry to win. If not, at least be one of the last ones eliminated. However, that did not come to fruition. But are there any chances of the TNA star being made the NXT champion? Can we see Joe Hendry booked for the title? Well, we have an update on that front.

Shawn Michaels might go opt to push the TNA star

On the Fightful Patreon page, the pro wrestling insider site revealed that they had some inside scoop regarding the TNA-NXT crossover. So far, Shawn Michaels is doing a splendid job of running the black and gold brand. But will he allow the TNA-NXT crossover to go further with a title exchange? Some insiders revealed that Shawn Michaels would be making any superstar the number one contender, irrespective of the promotion they belong to.

However, the same cannot be said for becoming the champion. As that is something only the Heartbreak Kid is aware of, “When we asked NXT sources about whether Shawn Michels would put the NXT Championship on an outside talent, we were told by one source that they believed that Shawn “would make anyone a number one contender, not a champion” based on recent booking.”
