The excitement for SummerSlam is slowly starting to add up with each passing day. Why? Well, WWE is going all-in for this year’s ‘Biggest Party of the Summer.’ There are rumors of several big names making their return, including WWE Hall of Famer Edge!
Like we previously reported, Edge’s not just making his returning to WWE SmackDown. But he will also work a major feud as a babyface heading into SummerSlam.
Edge will take on the ‘The Savior of SmackDown’ at WWE SummerSlam?

WrestleVotes recently reported that WWE is planning to stack up the match card on the SmackDown side of things. They already have Roman Reigns versus John Cena penciled in, but they also have another major first-time ever feud up their sleeve – Edge versus Seth Rollins.
Along w/ Roman Reigns vs John Cena for SummerSlam, WWE is planning on stacking the SmackDown side with another major matchup. Source says idea as of now is for a Seth Rollins vs Edge first time ever match.

Edge and Seth Rollins have never faced each other. The ‘Rated-R Superstar‘ had already been in retirement for over a year before Rollins made his main roster debut as part of The Shield. However, the two did cross paths once on Monday Night Raw. And well, it didn’t turn out good for the ‘Ultimate Opportunist’.
Christian and Edge hosted ‘The Cutting Edge Peep Show’ on the final WWE Raw of 2014. To make things interesting, Seth Rollins was called as the first guest. However, that didn’t turn out well for E&C. Especially, E.
In an attempt to reinstate The Authority, Seth Rollins went in a state of rage and threatened to stomp Edge’s face on his MITB briefcase. John Cena thought for a while before eventually giving in and reinstating the authority. At the time Edge wasn’t medically cleared, but now the story is different.

Seth Rollins and Edge could simply reignite their feud over their brief history. After all, that was a very strong segment and some great storytelling. At the time, it helped Rollins elevate his heel character to another level. This time round, a full-fledged feud with Edge makes us wonder where his heel antics would go!
