Seth Rollins Set to Make MCU Debut In Sequel to $1 Billion Grossing Blockbuster; Which Character Is ‘The Monday Night Messiah’ Playing?

Several WWE stars nowadays plan to make a Hollywood debut or start taking up several TV show roles. Now, as John Cena is in his second appearance in the Fast and Furious franchise along with Dwayne Johnson also making his return, another star is making a Hollywood debut. Seth Rollins is ready to make his big Hollywood bow in a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie. This comes after his wife Becky Lynch’s MCU part was scrapped from Eternals.

Seth Rollins will debut in MCU before Becky Lynch in a major role

Recently footage is going viral on social of ‘The Visionary’ filming on the sets of Captain America: New World Order. Clearly, this video shows Rollins has bagged a role in a major movie of a huge franchise. The last movie Captain America: Civil War grossed over $1 billion worldwide and this fourth installment has high expectations.

The 42-second footage shared by a Twitter user shows the former WWE Champion filming a scene. As per the tweet shared by Wrestle Ops, the 36-year-old WWE superstar will be a member of the Serpent Society. Their tweet said, “Congrats to Seth Rollins who has joined the cast of ‘Captain America: New World Order’. 🚨 Rollins is set to play a member of the Serpent Society.”

It seems the power couple of WWE is dear to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A few months back a story broke of Becky Lynch about her role in the movie Eternals. Sadly, her part wasn’t shown in the movie, but later it was said her character will appear in future films.

Nevertheless, this role is huge for the four-time world champion and he will surely try to make a mark in the franchise. Moreover, when The Man makes her debut in MCU, there is a slight possibility that she and her husband might share the screen for a brief moment in the future.

Marvel just had a huge release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which had WWE legend Dave Bautista. As that film is doing great at the box office, MCU is ready to have another WWE superstar in the franchise. The movie will release in May 2024, and fans cannot wait to see ‘The Monday Night Messiah’ as a member of the Serpent Society on the big screen

What is the Serpent Society?

The Serpent Society is a group or organization in the MCU which consists of snake-themed supervillains. In the comics, the group takes jobs of the villain organizations like HYDRA, the Maggia, the Kingpin, and A.I.M.

The Serpent Society first appeared in Captain America #310 in October 1985. However, the group’s name was later changed to Serpent Solutions, and with the new title they appeared in Captain America: Sam Wilson #1.

Similarly, Kevin Feige is bringing the villain group in Captain America: New World Order. Anthony Mackie who plays Sam Wilson aka Falcon is Captain America in this movie. The group has several members, and it is still not revealed which characters are part of the movie. Hence, Seth Rollins’ character is unknown at this point.
