Seth Rollins was attacked last Monday Night Raw and he suffered an injury which will force him to stay out on the sidelines. After Drew McIntyre interrupted an intense confrontation between Seth Rollins and CM Punk, Bronson Reed brutally attacked Rollins. The referees tried to stop the carnage from transpiring. However, Reed managed to knock out The Visionary. As reported by Dave Meltzer, journalist for Wrestling Observer, this indiscriminate attack aimed to keep Seth Rollins away from the ring for longer.
He said, “Seth is not a bad situation. Seth is cleared. He could wrestle, but he’s banged up. So it was a good time for him to take time off. I don’t know if he’ll be back for the pay-per-view against Bronson Reed.” It is worth remembering that Seth Rollins already left in April because of a meniscus operation. That left him out of action until Money in the Bank. He went and faced Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship post that in an unsuccessful venture. Rollins then faced other injuries and asked for time off from WWE before returning.
However, he returned briefly to be a part of that show and the plot of SummerSlam. It seemed that after SummerSlam, Seth Rollins was going to start a story with CM Punk. But everything indicates that they will postpone that match for later. Possibly for Royal Rumble or even WrestleMania 41. As for now, according to a WWE veteran, Rollins has the new role. As per Dutch Mantell on his podcast, the WWE could Rollins to push top heels for main events. He said, “You know, Seth, I think Seth has found himself in a position now where they’re using him to advance a lot of other people.”

He further added, “Seth will find himself in a position to where he’s he’s a stepping stone for that up and coming heels to get by him to move up. And he understands that he’s still making the same amount of money. So and it’s a business and I think he understands that. So but they need somebody in that role that he’s in now. Somebody who means something meant something a lot at one time. Still means quite a bit. And he’ll be used for those top heels to beat or to go over. So, which helps the top heel. That’s what you want.”
